Depot

223 North Broadway, Urbana, Illinois 61801

Opened 1 March 1967

The abandoned Big Four Depot was put to a new theatrical use when a group of University instructors, graduate students, and others formed a company to be a home to many campus and local performing groups.  They called the venue "The Depot."  The first production was Samuel Beckett's "Endgame" that opened on 1 March 1967.

A different group has been running the venue for many, many years.  It is now called "The Station Theatre."
