Henry Swannell ran his drug store on the ground floor of Barrett's Block and for many of those years he was in charge of the third-floor opera hall known first as Barrett's Hall and then Champaign Opera House.  Although Swannell's was never the formal name of the opera hall, some people may associate the name with the hall due to the long-term presence of  Swannell's Drug Store in the building.
